Guidelines
 |
The Focus Fabric will be chosen by
the Hostess, Terry.
|
 |
The Focus Fabric is available from
the Hostess at a minimal cost. The point is not to
make a profit on this Challenge; but rather, the point is
to provide the means to offer a fair Challenge with
everyone starting on equal turf.
|
 |
First, Second, and Third place
winners will be recognized.
|
 |
Quilts should be at least 12" x
12" and no larger than 24" x 24".
|
 |
E-mail photographs of quilts to
Terry
by November 30, 2002.
|
 |
If a digital photograph is not
available, participants may send the quilt to the Hostess
with a return postage paid envelope. At such time, a digital
image will be taken and displayed online with the others;
and the original quilt will be returned to the
owner.
|
 |
If a digital photograph is not
available and participants do not wish to mail the quilt
to the Hostess, then participants can mail a regular
photograph of the quilt to the Hostess.
|
 |
Judging will be in the form of an
e-mail vote from members of the
Quilting
Passion site. The Hostess reserves the right
to make the final decision in the event of a tie.
|
 |
Limit 1 vote per member.
|
 |
Techniques: Quilts can be pieced,
appliquéd, paper-pieced, or any other technique can be
used.
|
 |
Any additional fabrics may be used,
but the focus fabric, furnished by the Hostess, should be the primary fabric in the
quilt.
|
 |
Sign Up Deadline: October 15,
2002.
|

To sign up, send an e-mail to the

Participation Fee: $2.50 (Covers
fabric and postage), payable via personal check or money
order. If
payment is made via PayPal, the cost is $3.00 (due to
charges imposed by PayPal on the Hostess) and the address
to pay to on PayPal is sregora@quiltingpassion.com. For
information on the address to snail mail payment to, please
request it in the sign up e-mail to the Hostess.
Just a personal note, I no longer use nor support the
usage of PayPal due to an extremely bad experience with
them in which they refunded a Buyer's money AFTER I had
already transferred it to my bank account. He ended
up with over $7,000 returned to him AND the
merchandise. PayPal assured me over and over that I
was covered by Seller's Protection, but they also assured
him that he was covered by Buyer's Protection.
Despite the fact that I followed every instruction given
to me by PayPal to be covered by their Seller's Protection
because I knew he was committing fraud (and even had an
e-mail from him confessing he was!, but they wouldn't
accept it because it was "third party"), they still gave him
his money and then
demanded the payment back from me. I no longer trust
PayPal and refuse to use them. I was out over $7,000
and the merchandise. He ended up with the
merchandise and $7,000.
|
 |
In the event that participants do not
want to make such a small finished quilt, quilt ops will also be
accepted. (For those of you wanting to enlarge the quilt
after the Challenge.) |
 |
The Challenge fabric (a fat quarter)
will be mailed to participants on or before October 16, 2002. |
I
am looking forward to seeing all of the fabulous creations! FOCUS
FABRIC
(The focus fabric is a mottled light blue background,
printed with stars and snowflakes, with a touch of silver
glitter (which shows up pinkish in the picture, but isn't in
the actual fabric). The colors in this print are: Shades of
blue, from light to denim to dark and perhaps a touch of
white.) |
