PART 4, FINISHING THE QUILT We are on the home stretch now!
First, cut three (3) binding strips 2.5" wide from a fabric of your choice. Second, using your favorite technique, bind the quilt. Note: Read the next step before binding.
Third, this can be hung using straight pins or you can add a sleeve, or you can add loops (fabric or pre-made lace) to the top and run a curtain rod through it. The computer-drafted sample shows loops.
Fourth, put a label on your project and document it! OPTIONS: 1) Instead of outlining the letters with a decorative stitch, use fusible webbing, another contrasting fabric, and appliqué them on using either a machine button-hole stitch or your own. 2) Instead of quilting as you go, sandwich the top, batting, and backing so that you can "birth" it, thusly eliminating the binding. 3) If you go the "birthing" route, add lace to the edges of it!
