Block 3,

"C"

The third block, Block 3, is the alphabetic letter "C".  This block is an appropriate block for either a baby quilt or the the school-related quilt and measures 10.5" when pieced together in this lesson. This is the final alphabetic letter in this series and is very simple to piece.

The C Block is going to be sewn in four (4) units:

  • Unit 1 - Consists of 2 sections
  • Unit 2 - Consists of 2 sections
  • Unit 3 - Consists of 1 sections
  • Unit 4 - Consists of 3 sections

Units 1, 2, and 3 are going to be combined to make a final Unit, called Unit 5.

See the illustration at the left for how this block is broken down into these units.

Notice that Units 1 and 2 are mirror images of one another and that Unit 3 is actually only one piece.

The next block given is a block that is to be used if you're making the school-related quilt. It should make its debut around the end of October.

Shortly thereafter, the baby-related quilt block should be online. Please check back in mid-November for this block.

As promised, the final instructions for this mystery quilt will be given by the end of November.

I have two requests: 1) Since this is a free pattern, in lieu of payment, please send me a picture of a completed quilt or block when you finish, and 2) Please be sure to read my copyright notice before proceeding. I have strict (though very easy and reasonable) guidelines that users must adhere to. Thank you!
