Mini-Marathon
Mystery, Part II
Part II is the
instructions needed to continue with your
project, before getting a good night's rest. Are
you having fun yet?
- The
panel/fabric should look similar to the
picture below by now:

Can you guess where this is going??

- Measure
each side of the complete panel. Hopefully, both
sides are the same length!
- Measure
both the top and bottom of the complete panel.
Again, hopefully, both are the same! Refer to the
following diagram to see where to measure.

- Cut 2 -
4.5" strips the length of the measure(s) in
step 2 from a contrasting fabric for a border.
- Cut 2 -
4.5" strips the width of the measure(s) in
step 3 from the same contrasting fabric as in
step 4.
- Beginning with the sides
first, pin each border strip to
the right side and the left side, with right
sides together. Be careful to line the border up
with the top and bottom, so that it is perfectly
even and not too long or short.
- Sew each side
border strip on with a scant 1/4" seam
allowance.
- Press the
borders flat, with the seam allowances going in
the direction of the border.
So far, here
is what your project should look like:

Do
NOT add the top and bottom borders yet. There are
other things to do first!
