This
is a very simple floral block that can be appliquéd in
a short period of time, using your favorite
method of appliqué. This block could easily be finished using scraps of small fabric
from your stash.
When finished, this block
measures 9" x 9".
For help in appliqué, refer to Appliqué
Tips and
also Freezer
Paper Appliqué.

Instructions!
- From the background
fabric, cut a 10" square.
- Print off the pattern sheet located here.
- Using fabrics of your own choosing,
cut out the pieces given in step 2, being sure to add
1/4" seam allowance, if the method of
appliquéing you use requires it.
- Lightly press your 10" background square in half, on the
diagonal. Do this in both directions.
When finished, it should look like you pressed it
in an "X" pattern. This establishes how to
position your pieces on the block.
- Depending on which
setting you're making, lay out the pattern pieces
on the block. If you're making a regular
set, then lay it out on the square, using the
"X" to center it. If you're using
the on-point setting, you can center it whichever
direction you prefer. Before appliquéing
down, I'd recommend laying out the pieces, then place them where
you want. This might be the best way to determine how to
center the block. Refer to
the quilt pictures below these directions for an
idea of how the on-point setting and the regular
setting both look, at this point.
- Appliqué the pieces into place,
beginning with "C" and "B". Be sure to
not sew down any pieces within 1/4" of the side seams for the
seam allowance. If using a turn-under method, be sure
to clip inside the sharp curves so that it lays
down flat.
- Press the entire
block flat.
- Using the
"X" as the center, trim the block to 9.5".
It finishes at 9" x 9".

or a tablerunner, as shown below!

have strict (though very easy and reasonable) guidelines
that users must adhere to. Thank you!
Should you run into any problems in
making this quilt, or if something in the directions is
incorrect, please contact
