The true diagonal size measures 14.14 inches and when this calculation is rounded up, it measures 14.25 inches. The rounded measure of 14.25 inches is the one used to then calculate the size of squares needed to make Edge Triangles in an on-point quilt. With the default of 10 inches, the minimum size of squares to cut is 15.75 inches. After cutting the squares, then diagonally cut each square into four (4) triangles by cutting across the square diagonally in both directions (in an "X" fashion). |
