Have you ever wondered how to type special symbols, such as ©, ®, °,
é, and more? Well, wonder no more! Here's a fast and easy way to insert
special symbols into almost any document.
All keyboard characters (and special symbols) have a corresponding
numeric code. The following pages show the correlation between characters
and codes in a chart.
To insert a special symbol, reference the numeric code in the second
column of the charts. Hold down the ALT key while typing in the numeric
code on your keypad. The numeric code must be a four digit number, so if
the code given in the chart is less than four digits, such as 169, then
add enough zeros to the beginning of it to make it four digits. In the
case of 169, it would be 0169. 42 would be 0042 and so on. So, to type the
copyright symbol, simply hold down ALT + 0169, in a document.
